Aqua-Tots Swim School Sterling Heights

My kiddo was and still is afraid of water. Coming to Aqua Tots has been huge for her to learn she doesn't need to fear water. She gets in class and just takes each new skill and lesson at her own pace but is doing fantastic! We went swimming at a lake this past weekend after graduating to level 4. Took some convincing but she got in the water and swam and played in the water. This alone is huge as she refused to get in the water before. In just one month the transformation was huge. It's a big step to not be afraid of water and she's doing it! Never thought that was possible.

My nephew has attended swim classes here for 3 or 4 years now. He's on the spectrum and they have always been incredibly attentive to him and catered to his needs. He's even been afforded some one-on-one lessons! Great location!

We’ve had a wonderful experience with the swim school. The facility is always clean, organized, and very well maintained. The front desk staff is consistently welcoming, friendly, and helpful, which makes every visit pleasant. Most importantly, Coach Kate has been absolutely amazing with my daughter. She is extremely patient, enthusiastic, and genuinely invested in teaching her students. My daughter looks forward to every class and truly enjoys learning from her. Coach Kate creates a positive and encouraging environment, and it’s clear she takes great pride in what she does. We’re very grateful for her dedication and excellent coaching.

This is such a great location. We have 3 daughters who attend here. We have been members for close to 2 years now. The entire staff is wonderful. The instructor’s are very engaging. Coach Kate is awesome - you can tell she cares. Coach Danny is awesome and wants the kids to really succeed. Coach Alyssa - great and kind. Its just a great vibe all around. We have had multiple coached and never had a bad experience! The staff at the front desk are always SO KIND. When you call, the vibe is just friendly from the start. Location is also clean.

While we absolutely love Coach Katelyn and know there are several wonderful instructors here who genuinely connect with and care about the kids they teach, I'm deeply troubled by how the owner and management handled a recent and serious safety issue. On Friday, May 30, 2025, the indoor pool was operating with a completely non-functional ventilation system—a clear violation of Michigan Administrative Code R. 325.2182, which mandates proper heating, ventilation, and dehumidification in public pool environments. Despite this, the facility continued running lessons without informing clients or taking even basic safety precautions like opening doors to allow fresh air. To be clear, Aqua-Tots accepts clients as young as four months old—and all of these children, along with families and staff, were exposed to unsafe air conditions in the enclosed pool area. I personally asked about the issue after noticing the overwhelming, putrid smell inside the pool facility and was told they were aware of the broken system and were "hoping it would be fixed by Monday." I also informed them that continuing to operate in those conditions was illegal, but they chose to keep lessons going anyway. This
